Before establishing a goal you need to know where you are first by understanding your temperament with Elemental Leadership Method. This way you learn for yourself how to stay balanced in all situations.
Our Approach
Our approach to temperaments for individuals and teams is rooted in Ayurveda, India’s 5,000 year old medical system and addresses many aspects of a person. Current personality assessments like DiSC, MBTI, Enneagram, or Strengths Finder are good in narrow aspects. Our approach builds off your existing experience with other methods and often fills in gaps you might have been feeling. Going beyond identifying your temperament, we’ve compiled a ten page guide that explains many different ways you can stay balanced. Click on the modules to the right to learn what in the free guide.
Meditation
There are countless ways to meditate, yet most people only meditate one or two different ways if at all. In your guide, we offer the best ways to meditate to get you back into balance. We utilize over 15 different types of meditation and 10 breathing techniques to match up with our client’s needs.
Communication
Discovering how you communicate and how others communicate based on your temperament is one of the most valuable skills you’ll learn. Once you understand yourself in this framework it becomes easier to identify others and adjust your communication style. More importantly, you’ll recognize the strength of each member of your team from this new point of view.
Exercise
It’s good during the day to disconnect from what you’re doing and replenish yourself physically. Just like with meditation there are suggested ways to take a break. For example, if you are an Air temperament you would not walk fast. This is especially true if you are feeling very inspired and or scattered. The added air you are breathing is adding to the “Air” in your temperament and will make you more unbalanced.
Food
Most of us eat two to three times a day, adding in snacks that might go up to six times a day. In Ayurveda food is the preferred way to keep your temperament balanced. Food is medicine and if you eat a certain way it will adjust the balance in your life. We often use the example of someone with a lot of fire, eating a spicy, hot red lunch before a difficult meeting. That situation often leads to a very intense and unproductive meeting.
